public image cover v2Released in late 1978, when Johnny Rotten was back to John Lydon, and from the ashes of Sex Pistols created PiL.

The most important post-punk single? Sure, it is.

In 1978, Punk is dead, Post-Punk is born: the next 6 years will be full of great bands and music, one of the most important movements in all music history (if you want to know more about it, read Simon Reynolds’ post-punk bible Rip it Up and Start Again: Postpunk 1978-1984).

The original 7″ in newspaper foldout sleeve is not very rare, you can grab it easily on ebay USA, ebay UK or Discogs.

The PiL debut single was never issued in USA until 2013, when Light In The Attic released an exact newspaper packaging reproduction for Record Store Day, in a limited hand-numbered version. Buy it HERE.

PIL are considered one of the most influential bands ever, and they’re still alive and kicking: their last 2012 album This Is PiL is very very good!
